Today MailChimp released the latest version of its email-marketing application, adding images of subscribers to the user dashboard, expanding its free plan and making several features free for all users.
MailChimp’s Faces dashboard displays subscriber profile pictures from Gravatar, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, allowing users to learn more about the people who subscribe to their newsletters. By showing users their subscribers' faces, MailChimp hopes to encourage a more human approach to email marketing.
The Forever Free plan, which previously applied to users with lists of up to 500 subscribers, now offers free service for lists with up to 1,000 subscribers.
All users now have access to MailChimp’s Social Profiles add-on at no cost for the next six months. Social Profiles provides social data about subscribers via Rapleaf and allows segmentation by social stats. Advanced subscriber activity reports are now free to all MailChimp users as well.
MailChimp supports more than 3 million subscribers worldwide, sending 3 billion emails per month. The MailChimp platform improves the user experience by providing seamless, yet powerful email marketing and publishing features that are easy and affordable enough for a small business to get started, but powerful enough for a large company looking for an enterprise level solution. MailChimp’s platform provides an open API used by more than 250,000 subscribers. MailChimp integrates with many third party applications including Facebook, Twitter, Eventbrite, SurveyGizmo, Salesforce, WordPress, Magento, Joomla, Drupal and Google Analytics. And best of all, prices start at free.
