“We have always tried to make powerful features easy to use, opening up email marketing to a broader audience,” commented Ben Chestnut, MailChimp CEO and Co-Founder. “It’s gratifying to see so many people around the world have found MailChimp and are able to make the most of it.”
With the launch of the Forever Free program in September 2009, MailChimp’s subscriber base has grown from 80,000 to 1 million. Currently the Forever Free program provides a full featured, free account for lists under 2,000 and allows for monthly sends of up to 12,000. While many of the one million accounts are free, MailChimp has actually seen an increase in large customers over the same period. The average monthly revenue per paid subscriber has increased by $10 since January, 2011 and MailChimp’s largest customer currently sends 30 million emails monthly.
MailChimp plushies were designed by Shawnimals. The MailChimp hats were specially designed for MailChimp and are hand knitted in Thailand. The T-Shirts are printed on American Apparel shirts with a design based on Jon Hicks’ original pencil drawings of the MailChimp mascot, Frederick von Chimpenhiemer the IV, aka Freddie
