MailChimp today announced an integration with Donor Tools, an online donor management suite used by charities, churches and other nonprofit organizations to manage the logistical gymnastics of running a not-for-profit enterprise. The integration features a 2-way sync between Donor Tools and MailChimp, making it easy for users to keep current records in both databases, segment their lists using Donor Tools’ tagging capabilities, and generally take more control over their donor-focused email communications.
Nonprofits taking advantage of Donor Tools’ ‘tags’ and smart tags will notice that they become segments within MailChimp, making it easy to target recent subscribers, previous donors, big wigs, college students and any other distinctions users customize in their Donor Tools account.
The "Tags" and "Smart Tags" are always updated and synced with MailChimp, ensuring data is always current.
This MailChimp integration is available with any Donor Tools account. Users can select ‘MailChimp’ in their account settings to enter their API key and begin the syncing process. Donor Tools accounts range from $5/month to $60/month depending on account size. MailChimp accounts start at free. This Donor Tools integration is the latest to launch with assistance from MailChimp’s $1 million integration fund which was announced in the fall of 2010. Since that time, MailChimp has helped fund an estimated 100 integrations on their email technology platform, with even more exciting projects in the works.
