MailChimp announced today the launch of an integrations directory, providing a helpful path to link MailChimp accounts with other services on the Internet. MailChimp’s open API coupled with its Integration Fund have greatly expanded the number of third party integrations. This directory will capture all of these integrations for easy discovery and installation.
The Integrations Directory is a self-serve application located at: http://connect.mailchimp.com Developers can complete the submission form to be added to the directory.
MailChimp focuses on providing exceptional email services. Rather than create a suite of applications, MailChimp actively seeks to seamlessly integrate with other SaaS leaders to provide an integration of best in class solutions. MailChimp’s integration with Eventbrite makes it easy for subscribers to create their events in Eventbrite and then send out their customized invitations to their MailChimp list. MailChimp subscribers can auto-tweet their campaigns and auto-post to Facebook. And using the Google Analytics API, MailChimp adds web specific tracking data to campaign reports.
There are several API wrappers already in place such as Ruby Gems and iOS support. These wrappers help to accelerate the development process. A directory of all current wrappers can be found here: http://apidocs.mailchimp.com/downloads/#wrappers
The Integration Fund is now accepting applications from anyone interested in building an integration on the MailChimp platform. Possible categories for development range from sign-up modules to more complex data sharing. Development can also focus on increasing the utility of an existing integration or plugin. Interested parties should complete a short form online http://www.mailchimp.com/about/integration-fund to begin the application process. Funds will be applied on a per-project basis and the amount of funds allocated to any one project will be determined based on the requirements of each specific project.
MailChimp supports more than 3 million subscribers worldwide, sending 3 billion emails per month. The MailChimp platform improves the user experience by providing seamless, yet powerful email marketing and publishing features that are easy and affordable enough for a small business to get started, but powerful enough for a large company looking for an enterprise level solution. MailChimp's platform provides an open API used by more than 250,000 subscribers. MailChimp integrates with many third party applications including Facebook, Twitter, Eventbrite, SurveyGizmo, Salesforce, WordPress, Magento, Joomla, Drupal and Google Analytics. And best of all, prices start at free.
