MailChimp today announced a new integration for Etsy store owners called Craftmonkey. The application makes it easy for Etsy sellers to create and send email campaigns that match their store branding and feature items from their shops using a simple drag and drop editor.

“We wanted to make the application as seamless and easy to use as possible,” says Michelle Riggen-Ransom, co-founder of Craftmonkey. “We know that crafters, like most small business owners, are busy with a million different things in running their companies. Marketing their lovely, hand-made products should be simple and fun, not a chore.”

Craftmonkey uses both MailChimp’s and Etsy’s APIs to make signing up for an account simple. To create a Craftmonkey account, customers simply log in via their MailChimp account and enter their Etsy shop name. Craftmonkey’s drag-and-drop interface makes it easy for shop owners to select which shop items to feature, saving them time and making it simple to produce a professional-looking marketing newsletter.

“Email is a great way for Etsy sellers to stay in touch with their customers and keep them informed about new offerings,” said Amy Ellis, Head of Integrations and Partnerships at MailChimp. “Craftmonkey will help crafters get the word out about their products, connect with their audience and increase sales without taking up their time with template coding or image formatting.”

Craftmonkey was built by Social Glu, a company working with MailChimp through their Integration Fund.
