The Marketing team helps drive the MailChimp brand and shapes the perception of our products. Our Marketing Operations team helps to support the entire marketing organization and helps to ensure company and organizational goals are being met on a continual basis.

We're looking for an experienced Marketing Associate, Paid Search to join our team. The ideal candidate is a number-cruncher who has managed large-scale, international SEM and performance marketing campaigns across Google, Bing and other PPC channels. You’re an excellent communicator and self-starter who loves analyzing data and is well versed in current and emerging search engine and performance marketing best practices. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and a leading global media agency to implement advertising programs and campaigns that grow Mailchimp’s customer base all over the world.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with marketing operations senior manager to develop and execute MailChimp’s overall SEM and performance marketing strategy
  • Measure efficacy of all SEM and performance marketing campaigns
  • Maintain day-to-day contact with outside media agency
  • Review agency reporting, making optimizations recommendations when necessary
  • Traffic relevant creative assets to agency and publisher partners
  • Work with the Marketing Leadership Team to secure necessary campaign approvals
  • Evaluate targeting and segmentation strategy recommendations for all advertising programs
  • Work with the Segment, Education and Brand Marketing teams to ensure campaign strategy aligns with customer journey
  • Work with outside agencies and strategic partners as needed
  • Implement testing methodologies and experiments to improve conversion rates
  • Understand the MailChimp brand and the value to our end-users, infusing that into all advertising programs and campaigns
  • Coordinate with Accounting to reconcile campaign reporting and billing
  • Collaborate with marketing analyst to evaluate benchmarks and KPIs for measuring program effectiveness
  • Assist with ongoing reporting and analytics on program and campaign performance
  • Work with agency and partners to ensure brand guidelines are continuously followed
  • Meet with outside agencies and partners to evaluate proposals and review performance
  • Work with Web Operations team to ensure advertising and analytics tags are implemented properly
  • Collaborate with Web Operations, Content and other teams on landing page development and optimization
  • Stay informed of the latest trends in digital marketing, particularly with regards to ad tech

  • Study the marketing automation marketplace and landscape
  • Evaluate performance against campaign goals and objectives
  • Review media budget forecast and partner allocations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years of performance/paid search marketing experience
  • 2+ years experience working with an outside agency (client or agency side)
  • Extensive experience with DoubleClick Bid Manager and the entire Google advertising and analytics suite (AdWords, Google Display Network, Gmail Sponsored Promotions, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter advertising platforms
  • Experience with Bing Ads and Yahoo! Gemini
  • Proficient with Google’s G Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Experience managing several large SEM campaigns simultaneously
  • Experience with keyword planning and ad copywriting
  • Exceptional communication and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, high growth environment
  • Deep familiarity with the MailChimp brand
  • Occasional travel
  • Bonus points for:
    • Intermediate understanding of SEO
    • Experience with global marketing campaigns
    • Experience executing consumer and B2B marketing campaigns
    • Experience working with a data management platform (DMP)
