# Render template

POST https://mandrillapp.com/api/1.4/mctemplates/render

Renders a Mailchimp Transactional template with optional merge variables

## Request

### Body (application/json)

This endpoint expects a MctemplatesRenderRequest.

- `key` (string, required) — A valid Mandrill API key
- `mc_template_id` (integer, required) — The Mailchimp template ID
- `mc_template_version` (enum, optional, default: published) — The template version to render - "published" or "draft"
  - Allowed values: `published`, `draft`
- `merge_vars` (list of MctemplatesRenderRequestMergeVarsItems, optional, nullable) — Optional merge variables to inject into the template

## Response

### 200

Success

- `html` (string, required) — Rendered HTML with merge variables applied

## Errors

### 401 Unauthorized Error

Invalid or missing API key.

- `status` (string, required) — Status of the response, typically "error"
- `code` (enum, required) — Numeric error code
  - Allowed values: `401`
- `name` (enum, required) — Machine-friendly error name
  - Allowed values: `Invalid_Key`
- `message` (string, required) — Human-readable error message

### 404 Not Found Error

Mailchimp template not found

### 422 Unprocessable Entity Error

Invalid mc_template_version parameter
