Connect or Disconnect Mailchimp for Twitch
Mailchimp for Twitch creates a sign-up form for your Twitch account and then transfers mailing list information from Twitch to Mailchimp. Once your data is synced, use it to create custom messaging to engage with your Twitch followers and subscribers.
In this article, you’ll learn how to connect and disconnect Mailchimp for Twitch.
Before you start
How it works
Mailchimp for Twitch adds functionality to Twitch so you can create a sign-up form for your Twitch followers’ and subscribers’ contact information. Once they add their information to the form, it’s used to create subscribed contacts in your Mailchimp audience of choice. Then, you can create custom messaging to keep in touch with your followers and subscribers using Mailchimp email campaigns and other features.
When you create a form in Twitch, you’ll decide whether the form offers the option for your followers to sign up using only their email address or to add fields for first and last names along with the email address. You’ll also decide how the form will look to your followers.
Connect Mailchimp for Twitch
To connect your Mailchimp and Twitch accounts, follow these steps.
From your Twitch homepage, click Account and then choose Creator Dashboard.
Choose Extensions.
Enter Mailchimp in the search box and press Enter.
Click Install.
On the Success pop-up modal, click Configure.
Click Authorize Mailchimp, and then in the pop-up modal, enter your Mailchimp credentials and click Log in.
- Review the connection information and click Allow to authorize.
On the Settings page, choose the Mailchimp audience you want to sync to.
Scroll down to select the Allow users to add First and Last name checkbox to add fields for first name and last name to your sign-up form. Note that if you include First and Last name on your sign-up form, your followers will be required to enter them.
Customize the presentation of your sign-up form by clicking the color box next to each element and selecting or entering the hex code of the color you want to use. Your selection will be shown in the preview form.
When you’re finished with your configuration, click Save and Activate Extension and then click Save Settings.
- Once you see the success message, click x to close the Configuration modal and return to the My Extensions tab.
Under the Mailchimp tile, click Activate and choose where you want the panel to display.
Click Done on the Activation pop-up modal.
That’s it! Your sign-up form will be shown on the About page of your Twitch channel. When your followers enter their email, it will automatically be added to the Mailchimp audience you selected during configuration.
