Use Social Share Merge Tags

Social share merge tags help you quickly add social sharing links to your email campaign. These links make it easy for your subscribers to post your sent campaign on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest, and more.

In this article, you'll learn how to use social share merge tags.

Things to Know

  • Social share merge tags are ideal for templates and campaigns that don't have Mailchimp's drag-and-drop functionality, like Classic or Code Your Own templates.
  • If you're working with a drag-and-drop template or campaign, we recommend you use a Social Share content block. This feature gives you more design and labeling options for your social icons.

Social Share Merge Tags

Mailchimp offers three social merge tags to help you encourage subscribers to share your sent campaign on social media. Just insert one of these tags in your draft campaign, and check out Preview Mode or a test email to see how it looks before you send.

To include a variety of social sharing sites in your campaign, insert the *|MC:SHARE|* merge tag where you want the icons to appear.
