UX Content Strategy Intern, Summer 2020

The Mailchimp internship program started in 2013. In the past 7 years, we’ve had the privilege of bringing in some of the brightest, most talented college students from around the country to spend time with our teams. Our 12 week intern program was designed so that interns can grow their skill set, thrive in the Mailchimp community, and do meaningful work. They also have a lot of fun along the way! All currently enrolled students are eligible to apply for the internship program.
Start Date: May 18th or June 8th
Mailchimp Design is a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional department comprised of product, web, UX, visual, and motion designers. UX Content Strategy sits within the Product Design team.
We’re looking for an intern for the brand-new UX Content Strategy team. UXCS is a part of Product Design but works closely with content creators and strategists in Marketing and Technical Content as well. UXCS is primarily responsible for organizing, structuring, and creating content within the Mailchimp app (both web and mobile) and works with designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers to determine the best and most clear way to present content to our users.
What you’ll do:
- Write copy that supports and elevates elegant user experiences
- Work on content models and hierarchy structures that help Mailchimp users understand and complete their tasks quickly
- Collaborate with design peers and cross functional teams to build concept consensus
- Help develop foundational content strategy items, including site maps, copywriting guidelines, and voice and tone documentation
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Strong writing skills, particularly for “micro” application copy
- Writing samples that demonstrate great grammar, style, and empathy for users
- Experience interacting with designers
