Senior Designer, Performance

We are looking for a Senior Designer to join the Brand & Marketing Design team at Mailchimp. As a Senior Designer, Performance, you’ll be an essential leader-doer teammate who works magic designing high-performing creative assets and frameworks that help shape behaviors across Mailchimp’s paid and organic marketing channels and digital product contexts. 

Brand & Marketing Design is an in-house creative agency within the Customer Experience & Design department at Mailchimp. We sit alongside other design disciplines, including UX Design, Customer Experience and Design Operations. We work cross-functionally with just about every team including Marketing, Product, Culture and others, to deliver a unified customer experience that helps every communication touchpoint feel like Mailchimp. What you'll do here: 

  • Build innovative design assets and solutions that continually improve marketing performance and user experience based on data
  • Work from performance marketing briefs to optimize and adapt asset production for multi-channel digital marketing
  • Lead efforts on continuous multivariate testing and other tactics, working with channel owners on applying learnings from design performance to iterate and improve future user experiences
  • Champion the best practices for marketing and advertising channels, final asset delivery and ensure consistency within all channels
  • Help develop long-term creative optimization strategies alongside channel and brand specialists and your Creative Director to help reach key performance goals. 
  • Work closely with copywriters, content creators, designers and other teams as a stakeholder for performance in overall campaign development
  • Lead brainstorms interpreting creative campaign briefs to uncover potential design approaches and systems that contribute to our campaign business goals as defined by brand and marketing stakeholders
  • Mentor design peers and juniors in building an understanding and passion for the impact of data on design
  • Contribute to E2E customer experience strategy, unifying marketing and first time/repeat experiences for customers 

We'd love to hear from you if: 

  • You have extensive, proven marketing, UX and/or performance design experience
  • You have at least 7+ years relevant experience at an agency or in-house
  • You have an online portfolio demonstrating strong design skills
  • You have expertise in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in Figma is a plus
  • You are a diligent self-starter and strong team player
  • You have the ability to understand and help interpret performance results and be prolific at offering strategic optimization solutions
  • You have the ability to both give and take constructive direction
  • You are a strong design practitioner who’s adept at interpreting, using and championing our brand identity guidelines, always with an eye for detail
  • You have expertise in social media channels and their marketing tools 
  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills

*Mailchimp currently offers flexible and remote options in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Washington. If you are unable to work from one of these registered locations, you will not be eligible for employment.

The salary range for this role in Colorado is $98,000 to $117,000 and final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise. For all other locations, the salary range will vary by geographic market and will be determined through the selection and assessment process for this role relative to your experience and our job qualifications. This position may also be eligible for an annual company performance based-bonus and/or a quarterly performance bonus. Mailchimp complies with applicable law regarding pay transparency.
