Mailchimp Acquires Inspector 6

We’re acquiring AI‑platform Inspector 6 to help our small business customers create more effective marketing content

Mailchimp is proud to announce that we’ve acquired Inspector 6, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform that analyzes a brand’s marketing content and delivers insights, changes, and recommendations, to help our small business customers create more effective marketing content.

Our customers regularly tell us that content creation is their biggest marketing pain point. Over the past year, Mailchimp has built smart, AI-driven tools and features to help our small business customers with their marketing and design content. We’ve launched smart recommendations on what our customers can do better, next, or different, competitive benchmarking reporting, and smarter audience management and targeting functionalities. Most recently, we released a feature that automatically designs beautiful and effective brand assets for multi-channel marketing campaigns. During initial testing, users saw a 14% increase in engagement on email campaigns that used designs created by the auto designer.

With the addition of Inspector 6, Mailchimp customers will be able to build higher-quality and better-performing marketing assets while understanding how their marketing compares to their peers and competitors. Inspector 6’s experience analyzing text and visual analytics data with performance data will enable Mailchimp to develop both marketing optimization and design optimization within our all-in-one marketing platform. We’re excited to be able to bring the technology into our marketing platform.

Inspector 6 came out of Georgia Tech’s Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) in 2017, and has also participated in the Bridge Community incubator program. Its patent-pending analytics technology was being used by one of the world’s largest beverage companies.

Inspector 6 was founded by John Wolf in 2017 and is based in Atlanta, Georgia. As part of the acquisition, John will be joining Mailchimp as Principal Product Manager, Smart Content.
