Ben Chestnut

Co-founder and CEO

Ben Chestnut is co-founder and CEO of Mailchimp, an all-in-one marketing platform for small business. Headquartered in Atlanta since 2001, Mailchimp is privately held and profitable, with over 1,200 employees and millions of global users. In 2017, Mailchimp was named Company of the Year by Inc. Magazine and recognized as one of the world’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company. Ben is a dedicated leader whose mantra for employees is “listen hard, change fast.” He has a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from Georgia Tech, and was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year in 2016, and Georgia Trend’s 2020 Business Person of the Year.

Dan Kurzius

Co-founder and Chief Customer Officer

Dan Kurzius co-founded Mailchimp with Ben Chestnut in 2001. He was a developer who also served as the company’s first support agent. He built Mailchimp’s support department and continues to advocate for our users through research efforts in partnership with the data science, product, and marketing teams. When he’s not on the road visiting customers, Dan also focuses on the workplace and corporate citizenship efforts at Mailchimp. In a past life, Dan was a DJ and sponsored skateboarder.

Scott Culpepper

General Counsel

Scott Culpepper is a lawyer and registered patent attorney with expertise in technology and intellectual property. As General Counsel, he advises Mailchimp’s executive team on legal, compliance, and privacy issues. He has more than 20 years of experience advising technology clients, from startups to Fortune 100 companies. Before joining Mailchimp, Scott was a partner at Robins Kaplan, and previously, a partner at Thomas, Kayden, Horstemeyer & Risley. He has a law degree from Vanderbilt and a degree in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech.

John Foreman

Chief Product Officer

As Mailchimp’s Chief Product Officer, John Foreman develops Mailchimp’s product strategy and oversees product execution and innovation for the company. Since joining Mailchimp in 2011, John has worked to expand Mailchimp beyond email into an all-in-one marketing platform for small business. His work includes managing the company’s relationships with technology partners such as Google, Facebook, and Twitter. Given his data science background, he also owns Mailchimp’s intelligent platform strategy which leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to help small businesses become smarter marketers. Before coming to Mailchimp, Foreman studied mathematics at the University of Georgia and completed his graduate studies in applied mathematics at MIT. He’s worked with the NSA, IRS, DoD, Coca-Cola, Intercontinental Hotels Group, and Royal Caribbean International. He’s also the author of the bestselling data science book, Data Smart.

Tom Klein

Chief Marketing Officer

Tom Klein leads Mailchimp’s Marketing team and is responsible for all of Mailchimp’s marketing and strategic partnerships. An authority on digital marketing, e-commerce, and brand strategy, he has more than 20 years of experience working with some of the world’s leading brands. As CMO at Mailchimp, Tom was recognized as one of Adweek’s 50 Most Indispensable Executives in Marketing, Media, and Tech in 2017, and led the 2017 Cannes Lions Cyber Grand Prix award winning campaign, Did You Mean Mailchimp? Before joining Mailchimp, Tom was the founder and CEO of Digital Scientists, a digital marketing and software development firm. He’s co-author of the book Enterprise Marketing Management: The New Science of Marketing. Tom has an undergraduate degree from Emory University and two Master's degrees, one in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania's Lauder Institute and an MBA from The Wharton School.

Rick Lynch

Chief Financial Officer

Rick leads Mailchimp’s finance, planning, and investment functions. Prior to Mailchimp, he was a founding partner of TechCXO and served as interim CFO or M&A advisor to high-growth SaaS and marketing-tech firms. He also held executive positions with VueMedia, Hewlett Packard, VeriFone, and GTECH, and began his career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen & Company. He received a business degree from The Citadel and an MBA from Georgia State University’s Executive Program.

Eric Muntz

Chief Technology Officer

Eric Muntz is Mailchimp's CTO responsible for the engineering teams that design, implement, and maintain Mailchimp's products and infrastructure. He is passionate about designing and aligning technology to deliver connected customer experiences that drive business success. During his career, Eric has helped create web, desktop, and mobile applications for early-stage startups, small businesses, and the federal government. He has a degree in applied mathematics from Auburn University and also practices and teaches krav maga.

Marti Wolf

Chief Culture Officer

Marti Wolf is Mailchimp’s Chief Culture Officer. She oversees all of the company’s culture, employee experience and events, and onboarding teams which help connect new and existing employees with Mailchimp's values, strategic direction, and mission to empower the underdog. Before joining Mailchimp in 2012, she was a self-employed HR consultant, HR manager at EzGov, and Account Executive at Paychex. Marti has a degree in social work from Texas Christian University.

Gene Lee

Senior Vice President of CX and Design

Gene Lee is the SVP of CX and Design at Mailchimp. Partnering closely with marketing, product, engineering, and customer support, Gene and his team are responsible for connecting the dots across Mailchimp’s brand to drive customer loyalty and continued brand affinity. Previously, Gene served as head of UX Design at Sony PlayStation leading a global, multidisciplinary team responsible for PlayStation’s products and services across console, web, mobile, and VR. He’s also held various creative and design roles at Razorfish, Young & Rubicam, Landor Associates, Scholastic, and Nickelodeon.

Robin White

Senior Vice President of People

Robin White is Mailchimp’s SVP of People, leading the company’s people strategy and operations for over 1,200 employees in a growing network of office locations. Robin and his team are responsible for all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, people development, performance and rewards, compensation and benefits, health and wellness, and employee relations. Robin joined Mailchimp with over 25 years of HR leadership experience at global companies such as Kimberly-Clark and Merck & Co., as well as government and not-for-profit sectors. Robin holds a Masters of Arts in Geography from the University of Oxford, and a Masters of Science in Information Studies from Sheffield University in the U.K.

Lauritz "Ritz" Adriansen

Vice President of Finance

Lauritz "Ritz" Adriansen is Mailchimp’s VP of Finance, overseeing the company’s award-winning finance team. Ritz and his team are responsible for all financial functions at Mailchimp, including accounting, business support, planning and analysis, treasury, and tax. His team handles day-to-day accounting operations, planning, reporting and forecasting, cash management, tax compliance, payroll, and other finance operations. Ritz received a BBA in finance from Auburn University and an MBA in finance focusing on entrepreneurship from Mercer University. Prior to joining Mailchimp in 2016, Ritz served as a Principal at TechCXO, Director of Finance at Vocalocity, and held several other finance and operational roles at tech companies.

Ailis Burpee

Vice President of Legal

Ailis Burpee is Mailchimp’s VP of Legal, overseeing all of the company’s internal legal affairs. Her team is responsible for legal compliance, legal operations, employment and immigration, corporate and public affairs, corporate expansion, and policy management. Prior to joining the Legal team, Ailis served as the VP of Human Resources leading all of the company’s HR functions related to employee benefits and compensation, health and wellness, employee performance and rewards, employee relations, and people metrics. Ailis received her Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Tech and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Georgia. She joined Mailchimp in 2014, having previously worked as an associate attorney focused on commercial litigation at a national law firm.

Sean Cook

Vice President of Partner Marketing

Sean Cook is the VP of Partner Marketing at Mailchimp, where he leads strategic partnership initiatives. He’s spent more than 20 years in marketing and entrepreneurial leadership roles, including a 10-year tenure managing e-commerce and technology businesses. Before joining Mailchimp, Sean was the CEO of ShopVisible, an e-commerce platform acquired by Epicor. He has a BA in Economics and Art History, and an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business.

David Dewey
David Dewey

Vice President of Data Products

As VP of Data Products, David Dewey leads Mailchimp’s data science practice which is responsible for the integration of AI into the product as well as developing the intelligence component of the overall brand. Prior to Mailchimp, David served as the Director of Research and VP of Product for Pindrop, a company which specializes in using AI to detect and prevent fraud. With over 18 years of experience in the technology industry, he has always been attracted to solving the hardest problems. Whether it was information security, mobile development, fraud prevention, or machine learning, he has spent his career working on the forefront of innovation, applying the newest techniques to solve the hardest problems. David earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Virginia Military Institute and a PhD in computer science from Georgia Tech.

Mark DiCristina

Vice President of Brand and Mailchimp Studios

Mark DiCristina is the Vice President of Brand and Mailchimp Studios. He and his team are responsible for Mailchimp’s streaming platform, Mailchimp Presents, and ensuring that Mailchimp’s brand shows up in meaningful and thoughtful ways. During his time at Mailchimp, Mark spearheaded many of the brand’s largest marketing initiatives, including the company’s first major ad campaign, “Did You Mean Mailchimp?” which won the Cyber Grand Prix at the 2017 Cannes Lions Festival and the legendary “MailKimp” ad on NPR’s “Serial” podcast, which landed mentions on “Saturday Night Live,” “The Colbert Report'' and “Funny or Die.” Before joining Mailchimp, Mark worked as a production manager at Paste Magazine. Mark was named one of AdAge’s 40 Under 40 in 2017.

Sara Hicks

Vice President of Product, Commerce

As VP of Product, Commerce, Sara Hicks is responsible for leading and shaping Mailchimp’s commerce strategy to help small businesses start and grow. Most recently, Sara was the Co-founder and CEO of Reaction Commerce, the open source commerce engine for retailers and brands, which she successfully led from founding to acquisition by Mailchimp in April 2020. She’s also a startup advisor, executive leadership coach, and former product and design leader at Etsy, Media Temple, Yahoo!, and GeoCities, among other global technology companies.

Maura Kelly
Maura Kelly

Vice President of Engineering

Maura Kelly is the Vice President of Engineering at Mailchimp, responsible for aligning business strategy to the engineering team and ensuring the execution of product development initiatives across all user-facing properties. Her role aligns with leaders in Product, Marketing, Design, Support and more to ensure reliable products are delivered on time and within the best possible process. She has more than 10 years of experience managing and leading engineering teams. Maura has a B.S. in computer science from the University of Tennessee, and is pursuing her MBA from the University of Illinois.

Kate Kiefer Lee
Kate Kiefer Lee

Vice President of Communications and Corporate Affairs

As VP of Communications and Corporate Affairs, Kate Kiefer Lee leads Mailchimp’s PR, employee communications, strategic communications, and corporate citizenship teams. A former magazine editor and copywriter, Kate started at Mailchimp as the company’s first writer in 2010. She is the coauthor of the book Nicely Said: Writing for the Web with Style and Purpose, and she has spoken about writing and corporate communications at conferences around the world. Kate has a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication from Northeastern University and a master’s degree in Strategic Communication from Washington State University’s Murrow College of Communication.

Amy Kilpatrick
Amy Kilpatrick

Vice President of Integrated Marketing

As VP of Integrated Marketing, Amy Kilpatrick is responsible for the integration, execution, and performance of marketing programs and initiatives. She leads the Campaign Strategy, Marketing Insights & Analytics, Marketing Operations, and Demand teams, which includes mailchimp.com, advertising, social media, and events. Before joining Mailchimp in 2016, Amy worked for companies such as Dell SecureWorks and Cbeyond, and was responsible for driving marketing performance. Amy has a B.S. in business management, and an MBA from Appalachian State's Walker College of Business.

Michael Love

Vice President of Revenue Management

Michael Love is the VP of Revenue Management responsible for optimizing pricing on the platform and pursing new go-to-market opportunities. Michael partners closely with business stakeholders to grow market penetration, increase revenue, and drive customer impact in support of the overall business strategy. Prior to joining Mailchimp, Michael led finance and strategy for Home Depot’s Pro / B2B business unit, and was a Principal at the Boston Consulting Group advising multi-national companies on business strategy. Michael received his BA from the University of Virginia, and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Liz Pastor
Liz Pastor

Vice President of Customer Support

Liz Pastor is the VP of Customer Support at Mailchimp where she leads the award-winning tech support, billing, compliance, support operations, and client relations teams. She’s responsible for helping our teams empower and educate Mailchimp customers and for guiding the future of our always-growing customer support department. Liz joined Mailchimp with more than 15 years of experience in product innovation, product management, and marketing having spent 13 of those years at CareerBuilder leading ecommerce and product teams. Liz has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Arizona State and her MBA from DePaul University.

Andy Pittman
Andy Pittman

Vice President of Talent Strategy

As VP of Talent Strategy at Mailchimp, Andy Pittman and his team focus on ensuring Mailchimp grows with a diverse group of humble, creative, and independent thinkers that are passionate about empowering the underdog. He oversees all recruiting and talent acquisition, people development opportunities like apprenticeships and internships, and learning and development initiatives like Mailchimp University, an MBA-style program taught by Emory University professors. Prior to joining Mailchimp, Andy built out the talent function at Pindrop, and helped build Scoutmob by running talent and managing sales and company operations. Andy graduated from Auburn University and also founded an Atlanta-based holiday decorating business and Big Gorilla Jerky.

Tara Sharp

Vice President of Legal

Tara Sharp is Mailchimp’s VP of Legal, overseeing the company’s external legal affairs. Tara and her team manage litigation, regulatory inquiries, and other disputes. Her team is also responsible for intellectual property strategy, and advises Mailchimp on data protection and compliance issues. She's a registered patent attorney with a law degree from Georgia State University and a degree in biomedical sciences from Auburn University. Prior to joining Mailchimp, Tara focused on patent litigation and technology law as an associate at a national law firm.

Joe Uhl

Chief Architect, Vice President of Engineering

Joe Uhl leads Mailchimp’s Infrastructure, IT, Security, Delivery, Data, and Reliability Engineering teams, which support Mailchimp’s product development groups and protect the company. He was Mailchimp’s sixth engineering hire and 60th employee. Before joining Mailchimp, Joe founded and worked at a number of software startups serving customers big and small. He has a computer science degree from Georgia Tech.

Natalia Williams

Vice President of Product Management

Natalia Williams is the VP of Product Management, responsible for developing and executing product strategy. In her role, she leads a team of 40+ Product and Project Management professionals across 3 offices to build Mailchimp’s Marketing Platform for small businesses. Since joining Mailchimp, she’s pivoted the product development organization to a scaled Agile framework that is laser-focused on solving customer problems. She partners with Mailchimp’s product development organization on continuous improvement in the delivery of product that provides maximum value to Mailchimp customers. In her 15-year career she’s been an Engineer, a UX Designer, a Producer, and a Product Manager, which has helped her build empathy for teams’ challenges building products. She firmly believes that building good products requires a “build, measure, learn” mindset and that a solid partnership between Product, Engineering, and Design is table stakes.
