Mailchimp & Co Code of Conduct

At Mailchimp (“we”, “us”, “our” or “Mailchimp”), our values and ethics guide not only how we work, but also how we treat one another. When you act as a member of Mailchimp & Co (“you” or “your”), we expect your engagement with Mailchimp representatives and other members of Mailchimp & Co to be consistent with those values and ethics.

This Mailchimp & Co Code of Conduct (“Code”) applies to all members of Mailchimp & Co. It establishes expectations on how you should behave while engaging in activities related to your participation in Mailchimp & Co. This Code doesn’t provide tactical solutions to every ethically ambiguous situation that may arise. Rather, it presents a set of expectations for you to help foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment reflective of Mailchimp’s values and ethics.

Compliance with applicable law and this Code

You agree to comply with this Code and all applicable laws and regulations. Where applicable laws and regulations are stricter than this Code, those laws and regulations will govern. Where applicable laws and regulations are more permissive, this Code will be the expected standard of behavior for you.

How we treat others

Mailchimp cares about the well-being of all people with whom we engage as a business including, but not limited to, employees, members of Mailchimp & Co, and members of the public. We aim to create an environment where everyone feels welcomed, included, and supported.

We expect you to do the same and to treat others with professionalism and respect, as well as a sense of humanity. In particular, you should:

  • Treat others with consideration. Approach all conversations and interactions with patience, kindness, fairness, and honesty.
  • Respect others’ personal boundaries—physical, emotional, and otherwise. What’s comfortable for you may not be comfortable for someone else. Assume nothing except that others’ boundaries may be more conservative than your own.
  • Refrain from discrimination and harassment. Both are strictly prohibited, as are verbal threats or acts of violence, sexual harassment, or personal insults (especially those that reference an individual’s race, sexuality, gender, gender expression, gender identity, ability, religion, or socioeconomic status).
  • Adhere to the terms of all codes of conduct presented at any events you attend on Mailchimp’s behalf.

Consequences

Mailchimp reserves the right to terminate your membership in Mailchimp & Co if you are found to be in violation of this Code or applicable laws and regulations and ban you from future participation in Mailchimp & Co.

Report prohibited behavior

If you experience or observe any of the above prohibited behavior, or any other behavior that makes you uncomfortable, please inform a Mailchimp representative immediately.

If a Mailchimp representative is exhibiting the prohibited behavior, please notify ethicsofficer@mailchimp.com immediately.
