Looking for help with your list?
Mailchimp lists are now called audiences. They include the same data and functionality as before, along with valuable new insights about your contacts. As we introduce this change over time, you’ll notice fewer places where we still say list. Learn more about this change.
There are two primary ways to consolidate your audiences in Mailchimp: the combine audiences tool or a CSV import. When deciding which method to use, you'll want to consider the type of contacts you're working with and the amount of data you need to keep.
In this article, you'll learn about the ways to combine audiences in Mailchimp.
- If you have GDPR data, we do not recommend you combine audiences at this time.
Export and Import
To consolidate all of your contacts and retain as much data as possible, we recommend you export data from one audience and import it into your master audience. This process requires different imports for each type of contact, and some information can't be transfered. For a breakdown of what information is and isn't included in an audience export, check out View or Export Contacts.
Use the Combine Audiences Tool
If you're working with a new or relatively unused audience and only want to combine subscribed contacts and their basic audience field information, such as name and email address, our combine audiences tool is a quick shortcut that may suit your needs.
