About Seedlist Metrics for Campaign Reports
Seedlist metrics provide advanced insight into how various email domains and geographic regions handle your emails. These metrics help you see if your campaigns land in inboxes or get flagged as spam so you can refine your sending strategy for better results.
Things to know
Before you begin, here are some important details about this feature.
- We use Validity, a seedlist service, to collect deliverability insights from various domains and geographic areas.
- Seedlist data comes from addresses and domains that weren't on your original recipient list.
- If you have multiple audiences, seedlist data may only be available for the audience with an attached seedlist.
- Seedlist email addresses don't count toward your account’s total contact limit.
What is a seedlist?
A seedlist is a group of predetermined email addresses across various domains (like Gmail or Outlook), email clients, and devices. We use these addresses to test your deliverability.
While standard reports show if a receiving server accepted your mail, seedlists show where the email was ultimately placed. This helps you understand if specific domains or global regions treat your emails differently.
How it works
When you enable this feature and send a campaign, we automatically include the seedlist group in your send. These addresses won't appear in your regular campaign reports or your audience list.
After you send the campaign, we collect deliverability data from Validity to show how the mail was routed. You can then use these metrics to understand your performance.
- Overall inbox placement
The percentage of seedlist addresses that received the email in the primary inbox. - Domain-specific statistics
How your email performed with top domains. - Authentication records
How recipient email addresses viewed your sending domain's security credentials.
Note
Deliverability results may vary between your actual recipients and the seedlist. Use these metrics as a guide rather than an exact match for your primary audience's experience.
