We understand how important it is to make sure campaigns have the right look and feel before you send them to subscribers. Test emails are a great way to see how content will look in your inbox, or share what you're working on with colleagues. However, there are limits on how many tests you can send.
In this article, you'll learn about test email sending limits, and what you can do once you've reached your limit.
Why We Limit Test Sends
When you send test emails to yourself or colleagues, we allow you to directly input the addresses of intended recipients, so you don't have to store them in your audience. To prevent scammers from abusing this system, we apply sending limits.

Test Sending Limits
We limit the number of test emails you can send per campaign and per 24-hour period, as well as the the number of addresses allowed in each test. When you include multiple addresses in a test, each one counts toward your total test sends for that campaign and the 24-hour period. So, if you send one test to four addresses, it counts as four test emails toward the campaign limit.
The specific limits depend on your plan type.
- Free plan users can send up to 12 test emails per campaign, but no more than 24 total test emails in a 24-hour period. Tests can include up to six addresses at once.
- Paid users can send up to 70 test emails per campaign, but no more than 200 total test emails in a 24-hour period. Tests can include up to 20 addresses at once.
For Pay as You Go users, test emails also cost one credit per send.

For example, if you're on the Free plan, you could test two campaigns 12 times each in a 24-hour period, with one email per test. Or, you could send three tests of a single campaign to four colleagues over a 24-hour period.
Template Testing Limits
When you test a template in the Templates section of your account, we apply a separate set of limitations. Like campaign limits, multiple addresses count toward your total test sends per 24-hour period.
- Free plan users can send up to 24 template tests in a 24-hour period. Tests can include up to five email addresses at once.
- Paid users can send up to 100 template tests in a 24-hour period. Tests can include up to five email addresses at once.

Replicate the campaign
If you meet the limit for a single campaign, but have not yet reached the maximum number of allowed test sends within a 24-hour period, replicate your campaign to continue testing.
