Connect or Disconnect Yotpo Loyalty and Referrals to Mailchimp

Connect Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals to Mailchimp to sync points balances, VIP tiers, and referral links to your audience. Your loyalty data then powers automations, segments, and personalized campaigns.

Loyalty data loses value when it sits in a separate tool. This integration keeps it current in Mailchimp. You can reward members at the right moment, celebrate milestones, and remind customers before their points expire.

Before you start

Here are some things to know before you begin this process.

• This integration requires a connected online store on Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or Magento. To connect a store, read Connect or Disconnect Your Online Store to Mailchimp.
• You'll need an active Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals program for that store.
• To make changes to this integration, you'll need Manager level access or higher. To learn about Mailchimp's user roles, read Managing User Levels in Your Account.
• Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals adds 9 fields to your audience. Check that your audience has room before you begin.

How do you connect Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals to Mailchimp?

To connect the integration, follow these steps in your Mailchimp account.

1. On the Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals page, click Connect.
2. Review the connection steps, then click Continue.
3. Sign in to your Yotpo account, review the access permissions you'll grant, then click Connect.
4. Click the drop-down menu and choose the connected store you want to associate with your Yotpo rewards. If you have a single connected store, we select it for you.
5. If any loyalty fields already exist in your audience, we show you how they map to your Mailchimp fields. Keep the suggested mapping or adjust it.
6. Click Sync now.

Nice work. A message confirms that your sync is in progress. Most syncs take a few minutes. Larger loyalty programs take longer.

What if you don't have a connected store yet?

Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals needs an eligible store on Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or Magento. If your account doesn't have one, a message explains the requirement when you click Connect. Click View e-commerce integrations to open the Mailchimp e-commerce integrations directory in a new tab. Connect a store there, then start this process again.

What if your audience already has loyalty fields?

Some audiences already use field labels that match Yotpo loyalty fields. When that happens, an alert tells you how many fields overlap. A mapping table then shows each Yotpo field and the Mailchimp field it will sync to.

You can keep the suggested mapping or change it. For any row, click the drop-down menu and choose a different Mailchimp field, or add a new one. You can also review the loyalty fields that don't overlap. Mailchimp creates new contact fields as needed.

What if your audience is out of custom fields?

Each Mailchimp audience supports a limited number of custom fields, based on your plan. Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals needs 9 of them. If your audience doesn't have room, an error appears and Sync now stays unavailable.

To fix this, click Go to audience fields. Remove a few fields you no longer use, then start the connection process again.

How do you use Yotpo loyalty data in Mailchimp?

Once connected, your loyalty data is available across Mailchimp. You can manage the integration, trigger automations, build segments, and view activity on each contact.

Manage your Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals account in Mailchimp

To manage the integration from Mailchimp, follow these steps.

1. Click Integrations, then choose Manage.
2. Click the Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals tile to open the integration settings.
3. On the dashboard, review your integration stats. These include the number of loyalty members and the average point balance for your store.
4. Click Go to Yotpo to manage your loyalty program settings in your Yotpo account.

Automation triggers

You can use Yotpo loyalty events to start marketing automation flows. Available triggers include:

• Joined Program | Welcome new members with their starting points balance and referral link.
• Points Earned | Confirm earned points and show progress toward the next reward.
• Reward Redeemed | Deliver the reward code right after a member redeems points.
• VIP Tier Updated | Congratulate members when they reach a new tier.
• Points Expiration Warning | Remind members to use their points before they expire.
• Referral Completed | Thank a referrer when a friend they invited joins.
• Referral Share | Welcome a referred friend with the referrer's link and offer.
• Birthday and Anniversary | Celebrate member milestones with a bonus reward.

Segmentation criteria

Target specific groups of customers using the segment builder with loyalty-specific filters. You can build segments on different criteria.

• Loyalty status | Separate members from guests, or focus on your most engaged customers.
• VIP tier | Send exclusive offers to your top tiers, or encourage lower tiers to level up.
• Points balance | Reach members with enough points to redeem, or nudge those close to a reward.

Contact profiles and activity

Mailchimp syncs loyalty attributes to each contact's profile. These include points balance, VIP tier, referral link, and join date. Your audience stays current without manual imports.

You can view individual loyalty activity on the contact profile page. It shows events like joining the program, earning points, and redeeming rewards.

How do you disconnect Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals from Mailchimp?

To disconnect the integration, follow these steps in your Mailchimp account.

1. Click Integrations, then choose Manage.
2. Click the drop-down arrow for Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals, then choose Disconnect.
3. To confirm, click Disconnect.
4. A message confirms that you've disconnected Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals from your Mailchimp account. Click Continue.
