I’m Dan Oshinsky. I was the founding Newsletter Editor at BuzzFeed and the first Director of Newsletters at The New Yorker. Since 2019, I’ve run Inbox Collective, a consultancy to help news organizations and non-profits get results via email.
I work with brands to help them build out better email programs, focusing on opportunities to:
Here are three ways I might be able to help your team:
Coaching — I’ll guide your team through my email audit checklist to identify opportunities and red flags for your email program. Then we’ll set up a series of a dozen calls to help guide your team through the next steps. I’ll be there throughout the process to help set the foundation to grow your email program.
Strategy audits — Established orgs often ask me to do an audit of their newsletter strategy, sometimes looking at all parts of their strategy (content, growth, monetization, deliverability), and sometimes focusing on just a single part (usually growth).
Workshops — I’ll work with your team to introduce the right building blocks for email and get your team members working together towards a common vision for your email program. I’ll work 1-on-1 with your team to identify clear next steps and get you moving towards an email strategy that will engage your readers and drive revenue for your organization. Every workshop is custom tailored toward the needs of your team, and these can be held in person or digitally.
Shoot me an email at dan@inboxcollective.com — I’d be happy to talk about how we can best work together!
