Create Email Content with AI
In Mailchimp, use AI to quickly build professional email content from your existing marketing materials. With Mailchimp’s AI content creation tool, you’ll spend less time on design and more time running and growing your business.
In this article, you'll learn how to select and insert AI-generated sections, and edit sections using URLs or text prompts.
Before you start
- This feature is available to users on a paid Mailchimp plan.
- Make sure you have your source materials ready, such as your website URL, product descriptions, or relevant images.
- If you are using the Legacy Builder, you can switch to the New Email Builder to access AI generation features.
- Create a template or use an existing template to edit.
How it works
You can transform external information into email layouts using AI-generated sections. Use prompts or context such as blog post URLs for AI to suggest various text and layout options. You can then browse these options, pick the best fit, and refine them until they match your brand's voice.
Generate AI email content
Follow these steps to create and insert a new section into your email.
- In the email builder, click Add to view the AI Generated Columns. (When Add is selected by default, scroll down to AI-Generated Columns).
- Drag a content layout that best fits your goal (e.g. Article Summary, Upcoming event, Product or Service Promotion) to a desired section onto your template.
In the Content Generation modal:
a. Choose Generate from link to input your URL.
b. Choose Generate from text to enter your content.
- To edit your content, click Edit brand voice to make changes or to get feedback on your writing style. Click cancel to continue editing or click save to keep the text.
- Click Generate layout.
- Browse the generated layout and text options using the arrows for short or medium text options.
- Click the checkmark to confirm the layout. Additional layout changes can be made from the Columns toolbar.
- Click Preview to view or test your email design.
Note
If the generated content isn't quite right, click refresh to regenerate. You can provide additional instructions, like "make the tone more professional" or "focus on the limited-time discount," to get the results you want.
Troubleshooting
The generator can't access my URL.
Check that your website is public and not password-protected. If the issue persists, copy and paste the text from your site into the Notes field instead.
My images aren't appearing in the generated options.
Make sure your uploaded documents or URLs contain high-quality images. You can also manually replace any placeholder images once the section is inserted into your email.
