Mailchimp is helping eligible groups involved in COVID-19 vaccine distribution by providing free Standard plans for 6 months. Nearly one year into the pandemic in the United States, vaccine availability, accessibility, and distribution remains a pressing challenge.
There’s an urgent need to make credible information about COVID-19 vaccines available to the public, and a demand for people to know when, where, and how to protect themselves and their families with the vaccine. That means some of our customers could see rapid growth of their audience size and an increase in their monthly bills as a result. We’re prioritizing independent clinics, physicians, pharmacies, public health non-profit organizations, and local government agencies for support—we don’t want costs to get in the way for these groups working on the front lines of public health.
In the first few months of the pandemic, we saw many of our users sending out critical public health information to their audiences through Mailchimp. We wanted to help government agencies, non-profit organizations, schools, and churches communicate this essential information, so we offered free Mailchimp service to eligible groups.
As the pandemic continued on, we saw many small businesses scrambling to get their businesses online and stay afloat. We allocated $10 million in funds to help our small business customers experiencing financial hardship, and we invested another $10 million to help drive new and ongoing business through price discounts, product upgrades, add-ons, and more. Current Mailchimp users on Standard plans can apply for this relief program by emailing email@example.com with their Mailchimp account details, and information about their organization — including a link to their website, number of staff, and annual budget — and how they're supporting distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. Free plan users wishing to take advantage of this offer must first upgrade to a Standard plan and then contact our award-winning Support team through the email address above. Please note that Free users upgrading will need to provide their payment information, and will incur the cost of upgrading to Standard before the discount can be applied. Offer for 6 months free is limited to nonprofits, small government organizations, and small companies that are communicating critical information about distribution of an FDA-approved or FDA emergency use authorized COVID-19 vaccine (the “COVID-19 vaccines”) and are on Mailchimp’s Standard Plan. To request the discount, email firstname.lastname@example.org between Feb. 8 and Feb. 28, 2021 and provide: the email address of the Mailchimp account owner and account name, a description of your organization, a brief summary of how the organization is administering or supporting distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines, annual budget, number of staff, and website, if you have one. Free offer is provided through a 100% discount to your recurring monthly Mailchimp Standard Plan charges (the “discount”) and any additional contact block charges for your next 6 monthly bills (the “promotion period”) following Mailchimp’s discretionary grant of price relief to you. Discount does not apply to transactional email (fka Mandrill) plan charges or one-time fees such as Facebook ads, Google ads, and postcards. Eligible organizations with fewer contacts in their Mailchimp account will be prioritized. Mailchimp has the sole discretion to determine if an organization meets the offer eligibility requirements (such as whether it’s “small” enough”) and whether or not to accept or reject any request for price relief.
