Manage Contacts on Mobile
Your Mailchimp contacts are the people whose information you store in your account. Use the Mailchimp mobile app to manage your contacts.
In this article, you’ll learn how to view, tag, and remove contacts on mobile.
Before you start
Here are some things to know before you begin this process.

View a contact
Each contact has a profile with their specific data.
To view a contact, follow these steps.
- Open Mailchimp’s mobile app on your phone or tablet, and tap the Audience tab.
- Scroll to All contacts.
- Tap the arrow then find the contact you want to view. You can also search.
- Tap the contact's name to open their profile.
Profile details include:
- Marketing status
See if they are subscribed, unsubscribed, pending confirmation, transactional, or cleaned. - Contact’s engagement
View how often your contact engages with your email. - Details
Email address, name, phone number, and other audience field information. - Contact activity
View a visual timeline of your contact’s engagement. - Notes
Add, edit, or view any notes about your contact. - Tags
Add or create tags. - Actions
Archive, unsubscribe, or delete a contact.
Tag a contact
Tags help you organize your audience based on information you know about your contacts.
To tag a contact, follow these steps.
- Open Mailchimp’s mobile app on your phone or tablet, and tap the Audience tab.
- Scroll to All contacts.
- Tap the arrow, then find the contact you want to view.
- Tap the contact's name to open their profile.
- Scroll to Tags, then tap Add Tags.
- Use the search bar to find existing tags, or type to create a new one.
- Check the buttons next to the tags you want to add to the contact.

- When you’re done, tap Save.
Remove a contact
There are a few ways to remove a contact from the mobile app. You can unsubscribe your contact from your marketing campaign, archive them from your audience and keep their campaign data, or permanently delete them from your account.
To remove a contact, follow these steps.
- Open Mailchimp’s mobile app on your phone or tablet, and tap the Audience tab.
- Scroll to All contacts.
- Tap the arrow to to find the contact you want to work with. You can also search.
- Tap the contact's name to open their profile, then tap Edit.
- You can Unsubscribe, Archive, or Delete the contact.
If you delete a contact, you permanently remove all of their information from your audience. If you need to reduce your contact count but don’t want to lose any data, we recommend you archive contacts rather than delete them.
