Looking for help with your list?
Mailchimp lists are now called audiences. They include the same data and functionality as before, along with valuable new insights about your contacts. As we introduce this change over time, you’ll notice fewer places where we still say list. Learn more about this change.
Mailchimp offers three pricing plans: Forever Free, Monthly, and Pay As You Go. When you create a Mailchimp account, we automatically set you up with a no-cost Forever Free Plan. This plan is ideal for new users who want to collect subscribers and send email campaigns while learning about Mailchimp's powerful, built-in tools and features. You can remain on the Forever Free Plan as long as you have 2,000 or fewer subscribers across all audiences in your account.
In this article, you'll learn about what you can do with the Forever Free Plan.
A contact who has opted in to your audience in order to receive emails from you. Mailchimp stores your unsubscribed and cleaned addresses, but they are not included in your total subscriber count.
A term we use to measure the number of email campaigns you send . Each email sent to an individual subscriber counts as one send. For example, one campaign sent to 2,000 subscribers equals 2,000 sends. Test emails also count toward your monthly sending limit.
Forever Free Plan
Mailchimp's free, introductory plan that allows you to send 12,000 total emails per month and have up to 2,000 total subscribers across all audiences in the account.
A recurring plan that charges once per month based on total subscriber count, and includes additional features exclusive to paid plans.
Pay As You Go Plan
A flexible plan designed for infrequent senders, which includes additional features exclusive to paid plans.
How the Forever Free Plan Works
Mailchimp's Forever Free Plan gives you access to most Mailchimp features, but limits your total subscribers, as well as your daily and weekly sends. Keep up to 2,000 subscribers across all audiences in your account, and send up to 12,000 emails per month. In any 24-hour period, you can send up to 2,000 emails.
Sending limits can be applied in any way, to any variety of segments, as well any combination of Regular, Plain-Text, RSS, or A/B Testing Campaigns. Here are some examples of how you might use your monthly sends.
|20||10 campaigns with a segment of 1,000 subscribers and 10 campaigns with a segment of 200 subscribers||12,000|
When you exceed the 2,000 subscriber limit in your Forever Free Plan, a hold will be placed on sending live email campaigns or test emails until you upgrade to a paid plan, or reduce your subscriber count. You'll still be able to work on your email campaigns and collect and import new subscribers.
Build Your Audience and Design Email Campaigns
The Forever Free Plan comes with built-in, customizable signup forms, so you can start collecting subscribers right away. You'll also have access to great-looking email templates and our drag-and-drop editor to help you design custom campaigns.
Manage Contacts, Test Campaigns, and View Reports
Our Forever Free Plan gives you access to all of our standard audience management and campaign tracking tools. This includes contact tagging, audience groups and segmentation, A/B Testing, reports, contact profiles, and more. See our Pricing Guide for a complete summary of features available with the Forever Free Plan.
Add Mailchimp Pro
Mailchimp Pro is a package of advanced features that can be added to any Mailchimp account for a flat monthly fee of $199 (USD). Features include Multivariate Testing, Comparative Reports, Compliance and Delivery Insights, and the ability to stop delivery on certain sent email campaigns.
We require all free accounts to include a MonkeyRewards badge in email campaigns and signup forms. Earn $30 in credits whenever a subscriber clicks your MonkeyRewards badge and becomes a paying Mailchimp customer. You can redeem those credits once you upgrade to a paid plan.
